I'm sneaking in my New Year post for the end of our first month. I've been thinking so much about what I want from myself this year and how I want to go about making it happen and I think I've got some pretty good ideas so far.
This new year has graced us with it’s lovely presence and in the case of Ontario that presence is very very cold. The beautiful thing about our current climate situation is that the sun shines through our windows nearly every morning. This means that while we aren’t venturing outside at the moment we are still feeling that invigorating sense of renewal, of freshness each day. I didn’t want to come on here and talk about all the ways I want to change this year. There has actually been such a sense of commitment to our current happiness for 2018. We aren’t talking about how we are going to ‘eat better’ or ‘go to the gym more’ but instead talking about self-love and saying yes when we want to while also feeling confident in saying no when we want to.
This new sense of wellbeing in our own self is so much more prominent coming into 2018 and people are setting monthly intentions instead of setting yearly resolutions. A resolution makes us feel that we have something we need to alter about ourselves. Change nothing, you are who you are. Treat yourself better and take care of the wonderful person you already are.
I’ve been brainstorming some new recipes, listening to podcasts, enjoying laying in bed later in the morning, while also trying to sort out my morning routines that I know make me feel good but have become less frequent in my daily rituals from 2017. I want to spend more time with you all this year, get to know you and live a more full life together and I’m not going to let this cold weather get me down!
What are your daily rituals that help you feel calm throughout the day? What food really makes you feel good inside and out? Let’s take 2018 and solidify who we are, always have been and embrace it.
For now I'm going to take all my thoughts from the past 31 days and compile my intentions for the coming month. There will be no set goals or assumptive scheduling in these intentions but pieces of myself that I want to look at more closely.
I'm going to keep this post short and encourage you all to take your evening slow and think about what February holds. Take a nice long bath, stretch out on your bed with some light meditation and really think about what you want.
I'll see you all in February! Happy evening!
